Synopsis -

Family footsteps is a documentary series program, made by ABC channel. A program recorded how a group of diverse young people to explore their migrant parent's homeland, how experience their family footsteps to find out more about their origin and culture and more about themselves.

Among them one of four young people is called Susila Naidu, she have had two weeks journey in India, she travelled in the footsteps of her family's past and encountered many issues close to her heart. Suffering heat exhaustion, a staggering 20 million population, road choking with traffic and all consuming home sickness, Susila ponders whether she will ever feel at home.

Will this truly Indian experience help her connect to its culture ? Will Susila's signing gift help her discover her true beauty and a place where she belongs to ?

Opinion

I feel that it is necessary for young people to experience their Family Footsteps to find out more about their origin and culture, to face with challenges to explore live as locals, to experience how their lives could be today if fate had taken a different course, and more important to find out more about themselves. The program is informative and educational.

Vodici Festival is an Orthodox of religion festival. It is to celebrate the day of baptism of Christian on 19 January. In some east European country eg. Macedonian, Bosnia, Serbia etc. it also calls Epiphany festival, it is a religious family gatherings.

Traditional ceremony is church service. People wear traditional costume and go to church to celebrate the "Cross". There is a procession from the church to the nearest body of water, such as a river or a lake. A priest blesses the water and river or lake, throws Cross into it. A young people jump and dive into the river or lake to find the cross. The one who find the cross will pickup the cross and hold it in hand, then raises his hand highly and shows the cross to other people. The priest will bless the man, other people give gifts to the man and believe the man will have a very exiting year coming up, the man is regarded a lucky man for the year.

People take some blessed water from the lake or river and put it into a small bottle and bring it to home. The water will be used for putting it into body, as a symbol of purity and protection from illness. After church celebration is the open house. Family members, friends, guests etc. bring food, drink, wine and others to a house for celebration. The food is buffet, and including beef, special pork and vegetables.

The most interesting vodici (Epiphany) Festivals in Macedonia are in Skopje in the Stone Bridge over the river Vardar and in Ohrid on the Lake.

Daffodil Day

Daffodil Day is a the largest fund raiser in the Southern Hemispheres. Funds raised go towards defeating cancer, cancer research, education and patient support. Aims to deliver a message that will change attitudes about cancer and give hope and support to all those touched by the disease. It is a day to remember people touched by cancer, a day to celebrate survivor ship and to hope for a brighter future.

The event had its beginnings in Canada around 30 years ago and is now held in eight countries including the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Denmark and Australia. In 1992 it was run nationally in Australia. Daffodil Day is now run by cancer charities. The event has given the daffodil international significance as an accepted and positive symbol for the heroic efforts made by cancer patients.

The main way people get involved is by selling merchandise or by volunteering on Daffodil Day, on Friday, a major supporter of the Cancer Council's national fundraising event will sell pens, daffodils, lapel pins etc.

Daffodil Days has enabled people of all ages to join the Society to fight against cancer.

On the day, I feel that by supporting, we are not only helping to raise money , but we are also creating awareness among others, and inspiring them too.

The daffodil was chosen as the symbol of hope for all affected by cancer because of its reputation as a hardy annual flower, pushing its way through the frozen earth after a long winter to herald the return of Spring, new life, vitality and growth.

The daffodil is the international symbol of hope for all those affected by cancer. I love Daffodil.

Do you think an alcohol is an enjoyable drug ? Some people agree and some disagree about it.

I think certain amount of alcohol can be good for people's health.

Firstly, alcohol can reduce people's stress. People often have a some alcohol drinks after a busy work, as it makes people feeling relaxing and fresh. particularly when people go to a party, alcohol is an associated tools for people to be enjoyable.

On the other hand, if you drink a little red wine each day, it can reduce your risk on heart disease and cardiovessele disease.
